I walk down a balance beam. To the left, temptation, to the right, persecution. Against these I am proof. I know the dangers of the start, I have seen them fall who cannot jump to the beam. I made it up. I stayed on the straight course. But no one warned me of the end. I have passed beyond the beam, Now I fall through space. I know I might just turn around. I could climb back on the horse, But I can't bring myself to try, Not because I might fail, Because I might succeed, An open search for truth cannot accept a barrier. I cannot forget what I have become. I cannot kill my self again.
