The design is elegant Not seen day to day Elongated form Little extra mass Throat gently curved Well detailed Nape smoothed into crown Traces on the surface Ripples in hard metal Hiding the machinery Or exposing it Your mind knows But doesn't tell your heart She must be within Turning an unexpected corner Arching back Then again The shell splits For a second Then again Your breath catches Falling back Power on display For a second Blocks jutting Demanding respect Heat shimmer rises Disappears from view For ever maybe But you know See through the carapace Or think you do The hard shell Becomes a thing of lust Between her and you
